Hello, im new here

Postby debrh » Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:46 pm

Im 25 from north east london (i just moved back 3 months ago after living up north for a few years) ive never joined a forum before so this is all new to me. Basically due to the lockdowns and living alone.. and my parents moving backnto their original country, im feeling extremely lonely. Normally i’m fine being alone but ive started to really struggle with it. Ive been having very up and down days in the last two months, one minute im crying one minute im fine. Recently i feel like im not really here just floating around. Im still working and going into work, but i guess the xmas periods really hit me.

Just wondering if anyone would like a chat really

Badly! Was hiking regularly (a friend got me a book with a list of hikes in green spaces in and around London) until there stopped being enough daylight to do so. Been demonstrating against the Govt's violation of everyone's human rights, but due to police brutality, demos often switch location between my setting out for them and arriving. Other than that, been watching a lot of silly Saturday evening TV shows from when I was a kid. Can't quite understand the psychology behind that and wish I did, but the one time I tried to discuss it on here, I got a reply that went beyond what I'd be OK with discussing on a public forum, so I'm not going to open that can of worms again.

Welcome,

Well done to have the courage to post to the forum!
(I still remember the feeling, not very easy and I'm relatively new myself)

Whilst there is obviously a wealth of experience, knowledge, words of support and care available, sadly this forum does not provide a means for registered users to contact others privately.

For me it is speaking to other people that really helps, so I tend to walk miles and miles each day speaking to those I meet appropriately. Some will want to talk, others can hardly manage a hello or any acknowledgement (I just get used to it), in between I listen to music in my ear buds muting when someone I recognise or want to talk to comes along...

As others have recommended on this forum, you could try the frazzled cafe which provides a safe way of speaking and connecting with others, book here:
https://www.frazzledcafe.org/meetings

Please let us know how you get on?
