Dear Breathe in and Out,
I am glad that my post had some resonance with you. I just realised that many Rom-coms and funnily enough many Hugh Grant films have a disability angle and/or a mental health angle to them.
and the sound tracks that go with them can be uplifting or cathartic to listen to.

like 'Ain't no Sunshine' , 'How do you mend a broken heart' and 'Once in a life time' from Notting Hill and the Badly Drawn Boy tracks in About a boy.

I think that even the Bridget Jones movies have a mental health angle - if you look for it.

Maybe that is why I like those films so much: they are a safe place to examine very difficult emotions and then to be able to laugh and cry.

so..
once in a lifetime by TEXAS :D as played in Notting Hill the movie

Best wishes
B

I am here to cheer myself up, calm myself down,
so that I can deal with the day.
Starry Night - or I think it is called 'Vincent' by Don McLean.
it is a gentle song but I find it helps.

B
last part of song.....

Starry starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free

They did not listen, they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will

Songwriters: Don McLean

just watching 'Lorraine', a former member of Spandau Ballet was on. Then they played 'Gold' and it was all nostalgia for me :D
So Gold by Spandau Ballet :D
just have to listen to it again.
:D :D B
makes me happy

Shallow
Lady Gaga and Bradely cooper.
An amazing song,
from the new A star is born. Powerful, sad, happy, thought provoking film.

Seriously, can anyone resist Jimmy Reed's lovely soft voice? The second verse in Found Love is so relevant to even today, despite that song being from the fifties!

There is a song that has been used to talk about a charity for families with children with a Down's Syndrome member.
it is called A Thousand Years by
Christina Perri
it is beautiful and gentle and kind.
It is soothing.
