Re: Not allowed to talk

I work in education and i think that what you describe is an unacceptable response from your Headteacher. Telling someone off for being unwell is completely ridiculous. I would contact your union- perhaps call them while you are off. Do you know what brought back the anxiety? It could be worth revis...

Re: Social Anxiety.... Advice please!

Thanks Em- you are fab! Seriously you have so much knowledge and insight into your thoughts, behaviours, triggers etc. You are one of the most self-aware people i know. You so deserve to punch this anorexia on the nose! It sounds like you know what needs to be done re the job and you have broken it ...

Re: Hugs needed please

Remember they don't know you personally. That was your role and you did your best. They broke the rules and so you acted accordingly. Often these things matter a great deal when they are important to us; which means you worked hard at the role and did a good job (if that makes sense). Hugs and wishes...

Re: Social Anxiety.... Advice please!

Just a quick one as i want to share a positive with you- both yesterday and today i was starting to feel so low. I didn't really mention it yesterday as i wanted to be positive. My house was a complete mess and felt like it was getting out of hand. I just wanted to stay in bed with Tilly. I however ...

Re: Telephone counselling

Thanks so sad. Don't think i would do online- i would have to minimise myself to the size of a postage stamps to feel comfortable with that! :) I tried to fill in an online application and then for some reason it keeps refusing to upload- maybe it is a sign!!

Re: Social Anxiety.... Advice please!

Hey there- i am just adjusting back and accepting that it takes some time  Yah to sacking the useless ED team. Rotten tomatoes to the mega Emergy! Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey! Good luck with the mega babysitting task! 4 kids- sounds interesting. I think i would prefer that to the rugby, even...

Re: Telephone counselling

Thanks Upwards and Maisi, and Hello! I have done online CBT courses with Silvercloud and have a supporter every two weeks who reads my emails and gives me feedback. This is okay and has helped. I just have something i have finally decided i need to explore as i think it is becoming a barrier to my fu...

Telephone counselling

Hi I am curious if anyone has tried counselling over the phone? There are some qualified counsellors who do either Skype or phone call counselling sessions. I am wondering if i should try. I tried counselling a few years back and despite a good relationship with the therapist i really struggled with...

Re: Social Anxiety.... Advice please!

Hey Em, i am back! Trip was good- anxiety did come with me but i tried to push it and squash it away! Overall it accompanied me on a fair bit of the trip but i didn't let it ruin my break! So yes, lots of laughs and interesting sights. Time to reflect and try and make some plans about my next steps ...
