Mirtazapine

Postby sunchyme » Tue Jun 26, 2018 1:24 pm

Hi,
Does anyone here have experience of taking mirtazapine? How did it go for you? I've been prescribed it by the adult mental health team on top of citalopram, lamotrigine and aripiprazole, but I'm a bit concerned about the side effects...

Thanks!

Would it make me struggle to wake up?

I found even the highest dose of mirtazapine useless and my doc has just given me amitriptyline again.

It helps me sleep but I still wake up early.
Apparently the higher the dose the less sedative effect it has, though helps with early morning low moods.
Hope this helps.

I've had both. Both were rubbish with side effects. I went through them all until my doctor gave up and decided to bring out the big guns. They are called Lyrica pregablion (I call them magic pills). They calm the brain enough to kill of most the anxiety. They are expensive, so doctors keep them quiet.
