Have recently had a odd session or two with a counsellor and going for another one - however low mood is still low and anxiety still high, plus still feel like I am fog bound and can't see a way out. How long should one go on for if these feeling greatly don't shift?
Just persevere and hopefully it will start to feel beneficial. Most people I know feel the benefit although personally I like to deal with things myself. Maybe also read up on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy? (If you haven't already). I've found this help for many situations.
Just as mental illness doesn't develop overnight, so these therapy sessions will not work in one session. It takes many sessions to understand and accept your emotions, change your thoughts and improve your behaviours!x
