feel like sinking

Postby chrissy2012 » Tue Mar 15, 2016 1:53 pm

I was diagnosed with CPTSD ,I had intensive counselling before Christmas and it has left me feeling worse , since then I have had more flashbacks, more anxiety - panic attacks, more depression plus I have self harmed again, and I have cut myself off from society I don't even tell my family any more because I feel like I am a burden. I am not good at opening up to what I feel most of the time, I know I need see doctor and I know I need better counselling but I can't seem to ask for it lately just shutting myself off. , most of time sobbing away in a corner thinking to myself what am I doing crying for what I feel is no reason for it , it just comes out of the blue, I can't motivate myself to do anything feeling totally useless and feeling why am I here a waste of space  ...I don't know what to do any more

Chrissy I am so sorry you are suffering so much, and like all of us here you are blaming yourself. You don't know why you're crying. You're crying because in depression and other mental illnesses crying is one of the symptoms.

The charity MIND operate in England and Wales and have centres in many towns. If you look on line or ring the Citizens Advice Bureau you will get the number and they will help.

I ring the Samaritans when I need someone to listen. Most of them are very good. You can get ones who aren't as able. Don't be put off . Ring a bit later.

No matter what negative feelings you have they are all part of your illness. Feeling negative is yet another symptom.

With help things will ease and it's good you came on here. The more support you get the better.
Take care, Deb

Hi Chrissy

Sorry to hear about your situation. We are all familiar with your symptoms.

Please listen to the four talksby Claire Weekes following the link. She explains all the processes of your illness and you will realise it follows a very common path

Hi chrissy

You can feel better. It might take a little while. Little steps in the right direction no matter how small. Try to make that little effort, I know it's hard when you are feeling so low but to know you have accomplished a small thing can help lift your mind.

Take care. There is light. Xxx

Hi chrissy

I wish I could be with you. To be able to help you visit the GP. I'm pretty sure your family would be the same if they knew how much you are suffering. You are not a burden Chrissy believe me. The symptoms of your depression make you feel that way.

Getting the right treatment can put you on the road to feeling a lot better but you have to reach out to get some help.

I totally understand what you are going through and its horrible. When you feel as though you can't even think to be able to get help. Can you tell someone that you know. We're here for you. Take care. X
