a day on the south coast
I came to die here on the south coast
A place no one knows me or cares
Ive walked miles looking for my spot
But the sea keeps drawing me back
As it swallows up the beaches
Hiding the jetties from view
The homeless hunker down on benches
Waves crashing at midnight
Soothing, predictable and calming
Thoughts of home,life, police
And their video interview disappear
The sun rising causes the water to glisten
The tide begins to roll back
Revealing the walls and beaches
Bringing along to the panic
Fear I cant do this
Tears for more images of me shared
Uncontrollably with people I don't know
Judging me
The sea is as far away as its gonna get
I sit on the jetty wondering
If anyone would notice if I didn't move
The tide moved closer, people leave the beach
The urge to stay put is so overwhelming
