I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I have had some luck taking courses during this time. I became unemployed March 13th, and still going. But I found coursera.org and have taken about 6 courses on subjects I found interesting, or I thought might add to my career. You can pay a small fee for certification, or audit the courses for free!
