Desperate for help

Postby Simba » Mon Jan 13, 2014 5:12 pm

I have battled with depression for over 10 years. I'm struggling at the moment, despite a supportive partner and family.
I finally found a good GP, who has really tried to help, but as a GP only so much she can do. I'm now on max dose venlafaxine ( previously tried fluoxetine and citalapram, both at max dose). Tried counselling, tried lots of ways to help myself. Nothing works.
My Gp referred me to mental health team, saying they could provide more help.
I had an appt today and got nowhere, all they did was give me some leaflets.
I'm so disappointed. Can't stop crying, what do I do now???
I've admitted that I need help, I will do anything to get better. But no one can help me!
Everyday is a battle even in medication. I want to live and enjoy my life.

I am like you hun in the same boat .
You should phone the Mental Health Team back up and say you are not happy and go back to your GP and tell your GP that you are not happy with the appointment what you had today hun.
NHS is cutting back all the time and its not fair for us who is suffering.
I am dreading my assessment on 22nd January :(
NHS is a bloody joke
Good luck and let me know how you go on please xxxxxxx
