Hello Caro and Debs
I'm sure you know the story of Jesus in the temple. The rich Pharisees donate large amounts they can easily afford to pretend they are generous. Then a poor widow gives the smallest coin possible. Who does Jesus praise?
A lot of people are cheapskates and unfortunately some nationalities have more than others. Canadians are awful. British are in general generous. I think the Dutch give the highest amount to charity per head.
But as a general, universal truth, those with the most money are usually the most reluctant to give. l think that those who have made money their god are the best at accumulating it. The average person is more generous.
My cellmate is a cheapskate. True, he has no friends or family helping him, but makes money working as a trustee and lies about how much he makes hoping I will cough up for things we both need. Some people really have no conscience or morals.
God bless
Chris xx
