So I have this counselling session coming up. Part of me thinksi need to tell someone about what's going on .what's the point, how can they help me by just listening. Like won't it be boring listening to me going on about my issues and I feel anxious about even going cause be my first one what if I get things wrong, I feel nervous about opening up and I just feel like what's the point I should just cancel.

Simple answer: Don't cancel!

Your post screams anxiety and avoidance. Try to be as open and honest with the counsellor as you can. I guarantee you will not have anything to say that an experienced counsellor has not heard before. Good counsellors do not judge, they have chosen to go into a profession to listen compassionately to your troubles. They are also deep reservoirs of advice and guidance. There was a time when I couldn't see the benefits of just talking but I promise you the benefits are real.
