Re: When is enough enough?

Dear Capitalt, I’m so sorry you’re struggling but I read your words and personally found them very helpful. My partner is very up and down and some of what you said- lavendergirl, felt a bit familiar. So much of that kind of behaviour is a cry for help, it’s self loathing coming out, frustration and...

Re: Girlfriends parents won't allow her to get help

hi baccetu i;m so sorry to hear the terrible situation your girlfriend is in, that sounds so hard. I'm sure her parents think they are doing what's best for her, but as you say, it sounds like their priorities are focused on the wrong thing. As the previous commenter said, she can see the doctor alo...

Re: Advice re:doctors

Its been two days and no real improvement or help on its way. Still battling with docs to get them to take it seriously. They treat him like he's just trying to get more meds out of them and talk to him like he's some naughty child- which I know cos I am very often in the room when he gets a phone c...

Advice re:doctors

Hi I haven’t been on here in a while but have been supporting my partner for a while now - who has severe anxiety and depression. My partner is currently experiencing really severe anxiety and has been on the waiting list for MONTHS to see mhs but the most we know at this point is that they don’t kn...

at risk

i've been trying to find a thread to post this on but it didn't feel appropriate. I'm at a pretty low point myself, emotionally drained, on the brink of some kind of depressive episode after caring for my boyrfriend for the last year and watching him go through one depression and anxiety crisis afte...

Re: What else can I do?

Hi Brighte, I'm in the same position as you. partner is currently withdrawing from meds and just sits in bed all day, doesn't want to do anything, eat anything,. He's not supposed to feel the withdrawal so the dose isn't high enough, which is what is causing his mood. I can't suggest anything, there...

Re: I think I've made things worse!

Oh ali, I just read your post and had to reply, I’m so sorry you’re going through such a hard time. You’re not alone in this, there have been times when I’ve said things to my boyfriend wanting it to get better and that has happened- so you’re really not the only one. Please don’t beat yourself up t...

Re: GP Appointment Milestone Terrors

Hi smillam, Your story sounded so so familiar, been there down that with the doctors and anti depressants. We’re currently going through a complaints procedure for my boyfriend because his doctor shouted at him- and lied- while he was acutely depressed. I hope your appointment went well. How did it ...

Re: Partner has Paranoid Pychosis

Hi Katkat, I just read your post and I wanted to say keep going. Your situation sounds really tough and draining but if it makes any difference you have support right here. Don't listen to your neighbours, they don't know what they're talking about. They're confusing illness with morals, two totally...
