Re: Hello, I'm new

I literally don't have the faintest idea of how to challenge myself Think of it as a little game! Oh, and you're not allowed to give up before you even get started. Give it some thought and see what you can come up with. It doesn't have to be something big and complicated, it's best if it's somethi...

Re: Down but not out.

Hi emmam, welcome to the forum! It's not uncommon for depression and anxiety to strike even though on the surface life appears to be pretty good with a family and loving husband etc. It sounds like you maybe don't have anybody to talk to about how you're feeling and so you're used to hiding how you'...

Re: run out of options now

Hi goldie222, welcome to the forum! From what you've said it sounds like your depression must be a long standing problem rather than something that has started since your cycling accident? Something I didn't understand from what you said in your post, hope you don't mind me asking but how come you'r...

Re: Has anyone experienced this before ?!?!

I agree, this sounds like it might be disassociation which is a symptom of anxiety. How long have you been taking the antidepressants for and do you think they're helping you to feel less anxious at all?

Re: Hello, I'm new

Sorry to hear that money is an issue for you on top of loneliness and depression as well. When we're used to spending a lot of time on our own I think it does become more daunting and challenging to actually spend time with people, it's like a viscous circle. I try to make sure that I never take a f...

Re: Hello, I'm new

Tofler, how do you get through the day? What things occupy your mind? I try to keep myself busy but I'm not always successful because I often feel exhausted and find it very difficult to motivate myself to do anything. I work full time and I see my daughter twice a week for a sleepover. But I spend...

Re: Stress cause my boyfriend to end our 3 yr relationship?

So what happened finally? Hi m1008a and welcome to the forum! You might not get an answer to your question I'm afraid because you've replied to a post which is a few years old now and I don't think any of these people are still posting on here. Are you struggling with the same sort of issues at the...

Re: Suicidal boyfriend

Here's the website link (hopefully!) https://zerosuicidealliance.com Also, there was a recent Horizon documentary on BBC2 about male suicide. I think it's available on iPlayer and you might find it useful, it was a very good programme. Your boyfriend might find it useful also, but I think you should...

Re: Suicidal boyfriend

Hi clodagh, welcome to the forum and I hope you'll find it useful. Sorry to hear that your boyfriend is feeling suicidal and it sounds like he's maybe putting a fair bit of pressure onto you with him having no other support. He needs to find people to talk to about how he's'feeling at the moment. Do...

Re: Developing our mental health toolkits

Here's a few of the tools in my toolkit, to hopefully get us started: ✓ Developing a different relationship with my thoughts - this has been a big one for me as I really struggled with ruminating and overthinking. I've tried to take on board some ideas from mindfulness and also CBT. I might say a bi...
