Possibly negligent GP

I really need some advice on what to do about this - and maybe I'm just blowing things out of proportion but it's been playing on my mind. There's a guy I went to sixth form with, and we were vaguely friends at the time but he was always clearly a narcissistic git who always said he wanted to be a d...

Re: Very low and frustrated

If you're worried you're headed towards mania, then it's probably a good idea to make a GP appointment and talk about your concerns. They might at least be able to help you make a plan of how to deal with it - do you have any friends/relatives you could speak to about it? People will give better sup...

Re: Leaving the Forum

You need to make decisions that protect yourself and if using the board makes things worse, then you're making the right decision. But if you ever, ever want or need to come back, we'll be here. Just do what you need to do now.

Re: wanting to spend all day in bed

Sorry the CBT didn't help - although the tea light sounds like a CBT technique and that seemed pretty effective. Maybe you just already knew everything they had to tell you.

I hope you're looking after yourself xxx

New Year's List should honour the mentally ill

A rather odd, but well meant article. I hate the New Year's Honours and everything it stands for (and I love Danny Boyle for refusing a knighthood), but I appreciate that the writer is trying to show respect for the daily struggle of living with mental illness: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013...

Re: Urgh.. *Big trig

If you don't mind me asking Dova, what's your current diagnosis?

Do you have these racing thoughts often? I get them from time to time but I think in my case they're milder, and it sounds like they must be really distressing. I hope you managed to get to sleep okay xxx

Re: Very low and frustrated

I don't feel like the dissociation comes on when I feel particularly anxious. It's just that when I react positively to something, I find it impossible to actually connect any feeling to the reaction. I can observe that physically I'm showing all the signs of feeling something good - I smile, I laug...

Re: wanting to spend all day in bed

If the urge is that overwhelming and you've found a way to fight it for as long as 6 hours, then I think you should be really proud of yourself.
