Lack of Tolerance in Society.

I'd like to think that the world I live in, is one that it is accepting of people's differences. I have previously posted on here many times about my Brother's Schizophrenia. I have ranted on, about how he is barred from pubs, and how is much maligned by his neighbours. Now I have found out that he ...

Re: lonely

Hi Abz and welcome. I do emphasize with you, because you seem to be, almost exactly where I was this time last year... Tearful, lonely, constantly unhappy at work..so much so, I tried to quit. Always believing that I was/things were actually a lot worse than they were. Knowing that the worst would h...

Re: Long-term use of antidepressants.

Thank you for the replies. I kind of wanted to see how I got on for a while, before posting again. Well it's been five weeks now, and I'm doing well. :) I had a good chat with the doctor who said it was really up to me if I wanted to continue taking the antipressants or not. I explained that I wasn'...

Long-term use of antidepressants.

Hello, i'm off to the doctors in a little while. I've been taking Sertraline every day for at least the past two years..( as part of a trial looking at effectiveness of AD's versus CBT/meditation. I think the Dr is going to suggest weaning me off the pills..now that I seem much, much better. However...

Re: Lorazepam and Sertaline

I like the way that Sertraline does not make me feel spaced-out. Different folks experience different side effects, so you just need to find out what works best for you. Since i've been on the Sertraline..I realised that taking ADs is probably more common then you think. That reminds me...I really m...

Being Assertive.

Right i'm going to garden to practise saying No! No! I'm not going to give you any money today!
Hopefully it will be only the one bemused squirrel and next door's chicken, and my cats that will hear me trying out my new found tough love talk on the fish..

Re: Question: your male partner

My male partner does all the shopping and cooking. I can and sometimes do cook on the odd occasion, but I tend to stick to baking.
I think my bloke finds cooking dinner, relaxing after a hard day's work..so if he happy to cook, I appreciate him doing the cooking, but i'm not going to stop him.

Re: Lorazepam and Sertaline

Hi, I have been taking Sertraline for two years now, in line with NICE guidelines. I have taken other ADs in the past, but Sertraline does seem to work well for me. Personally I have not experienced many side effects other than nausea when starting on it, and mild bruising. For me personally, I can ...
