Re: starting to feel jittery again

Hi nath, I am so scared Confucius said, you are what you think you are. I think these are very profound words, if you think you are going to be scared, then that is what you will be. Life throws so much at us and there are real reasons to be fearful, but I wonder if you can understand this - 'fear i...

Re: Just when I thought I was better

Have you tried doing a google search for voluntary jobs in your town? The council, hospitals, care homes, countryside parks and rivers, homeless shelters, food banks, mentors and many others advertise in our town. We have groups in our town who litter pick, you can try doing this with the blessing o...

Re: Just when I thought I was better

Just a thought. Some years ago, I met a very depressed lady, she had been off work for a couple of years. I encouraged her to come and do some voluntary work with me; supporting people with a learning disability. After about a month of volunteering, she found the courage to apply for a part time job...

Re: Forgotten

Hi roses, please ignore this if it is not for you. The gp asked me if I wanted to be on antidepressants for the rest of my life and I said No When I gave up smoking, the first six months were hell, there were many times I just wanted to have a smoke. That was thirty nine years ago; looking back, I a...

Re: Wanting to help a friend - don't know how

As you are living thousand of miles apart, I think the most you can do is be the caring friend who is willing to listen on zoom or something similar. You probably can't give her advice. If she is a high flyer, then she has probably gone through all her options. She says she is financially sound for ...

Re: Hi I'm new

I worry about everything. I have health anxiety too. In 2011 I had tests done for cancer, about a month later the doctor phoned and said he urgently wanted to see me, it was non – Hodgkin Lymphoma. This was a name I recognised, our friend had this cancer, and died a few months later. Being told I h...

Re: Thoughts : Your biggest enemy and friend

Thanks for sharing, I have been thinking recently that the mind is a powerful tool like a chainsaw. When you switch the saw on, you have to be in control, you have to guide it and make it do what you want it to do. Likewise with the mind, all your thoughts come from you, and you can learn to be in c...

Re: please tell me this will end

Just a thought, but have you tried some kind of vigorous exercise for a couple of hours. I have always found this makes me feel hungry.

Also, when you voluntarily help other people, you help yourself more.

Re: Just want to be done

I just want to everything to stop. The dilemma is that we have often lived with our story for years and have never been able to share it. You know that your friends and family would rather listen to your story than go to your funeral. There are many reasons why we keep things to ourselves, but I wo...
