Re: Automatic thoughts

Hi Deb I totally understand where you're at. its a nightmare and its exhausting. Its good (very good) that you're spotting the automatic thoughts, that's a huge skill to have so please give yourself credit for that. I've also worked out that mental illness is a minefield and so unpredictable. You ar...

Re: Counselling

Hi I had a similar experience with my employee assistance offer. I told her how anxious I felt and she said that my breathing told her I wasn't anxious at all and wouldn't even explore it any further! I did stick with her for another couple of telephone sessions but didn't feel any better for it. So...

Fear of therapy ending is all-consuming

Hi I'm having DBT at the moment and have been since last July. I have a great one-to-one therapist and I also go to a skills group once a week. I'm on my second cycle of the DBT and in some ways it has made big differences. Right now I'm in a mess. My depression is spiralling and my anxiety is out o...

Re: Partner not supportive

Hi Sorry to hear about your situation. Sertraline (any meds) take a while to settle in and you can have some odd symptoms whilst you're waiting. I wonder if your partner is scared and is trying to ignore what is going on in the hope it will all go away? My partner wasn't supportive at first - think ...

Re: Telephone counselling

Hi I did quite a few online sessions and some over the phone. I was dreading the online ones because I didn't want to be seen but after I'd worked out how to minimise the image of myself on the screen I actually stopped thinking about it. I found it very useful - no travelling, no getting dressed ap...

Re: A crazy head

Hi Debs

How are you feeling now? Do you have any professional support who you can talk to about this?
Has anything happened recently to trigger it? Sorry for the questions.
Hope you've managed a decent day despite feeling so awful

Isap

I always read this thread - I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. I always find your posts inspiring - your strength is amazing even if you don't feel that you are.

I really hope your meds settle down and you start to feel the benefits.

Re: Gp/therapy experiences, please share

Hi I totally understand how anxious this is making you. 'm lucky that I get on with my GP but I have dealt with others not so understanding. I would write down how you are feeling and take it with you. If you can read from it then great, if not, hand it to them and let them read it themselves. Like ...
