Re: Why did I even bother going to see the doctor?

Re: Hi all,

Even if I don't get a diagnosis I'm hoping learning more about myself and how to manage / cope with my behaviours will help. :)

Good luck for your CBT and referral.

Re: Hi all,

Hi and welcome to the board, hope you enjoy it here. :) I'm not in any form of therapy but have spent today reseearching hypomania from 1 day upwards as my GP dismisses anything under the DSM-IV standard of 4 days+ for hypomania. I've got some psych journals to take with me and am plotting my moods ...

Re: Support Groups

Thanks Ooby, yes it's a bipolar UK group I went to.
Found it very friendly and supportive, more informal than I had thought it would be, but very useful.
Hope to go back again next month and perhaps make it a regular thing to give me an outlet.

Re: Help!!!!

Hi Squidge, I'm sorry also you're feeling so much distress. Have you seen your GP or Pdoc and explained how you're feeling? What medication are you on if any? Have you got anyone close to you friends / family that you could talk to, even if just a bit of what you're feeling so you can share the load...

Re: Hi all,

You're right of course, we do have to be light hearted about it. We would joke if it was something physical to get us through. And people would have the same looks on their faces I guess.. except for the stigma part. Thanks :) you too with your grandchildren - my children are my motivation and we do...

Re: Hi all,

I can look back at depression and highs all through my life, especially the lows, I hadn't really realised till the last 2 years that the highs weren't just me 'in a very good mood'. My husband identified the 'fads' as he called them which I resented the word and was a bit rude about - in terms of m...
