Re: NEED HELP REPLY ASAP PLS

Hi lara, Apologies for the late reply...are you still checking for responses here? Yes, the whole "legal high" thing is a mess because new substances are appearing faster than the government can (pointlessly) ban them. Packages sold as "Bubble" probably used to be mephedrone, whi...

Re: please please help me

Hi tyy, I have a few thoughts for you. By the way, I don't think you should be worried about the quality of your sentences/post etc. It all looks fine to me. Also, the whole "cannabis causing schizophrenia" thing is still very questionable. That's actually a panic that's being caused by a ...

Re: Antidepressants are not 'happy pills'

Thanks ooby, I appreciate your efforts in sharing all these articles etc. I don't know if you've already posted this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV1S5zw096U It's a talk given by the university lecturer/consultant psychiatrist Joanna Moncrieff, which relates to this topic. Her work is often ...

work

Hey guys, I've had an offer to do some work for several months. It's with the guys I last worked with, which was 3 years or so back. And it's from home, which is good because I can't really get out any more! So this is causing me a huge conflict... I really want to say no, but I know that will just ...

Re: Med change...

Good luck, you should find the new one is much better for anxiety than fluoxetine. I made that same swap a few years back, but for some reason my idiot GP told me I could start taking the new one straight away. (Depending on which guidelines you check, you're supposed to wait 7 - 10 days.) Anyway le...

Re: Have I done the right thing?

I think I understand also, philip. I've been mostly unemployed for about 6 years now and have no idea how to get back into the swing of things. I had an offer of work last year but got way too stressed even before I started and had to drop it. Sounds like you're doing well in your job and that's gre...

Re: Meeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ahh yes, you completely get what I'm talking about :) Yeah, socialising online is a much more comfortable experience. Talking to people in real life is too demanding - struggling to try and find the right words while under time pressure. And remembering to keep making eye contact and forcing my face...

Re: Meeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I really appreciate you saying that, thank you! x It's complicated with empathy - there are different aspects to it. With Asperger's, you lack the instincts to easily pick up on other people's motivations and emotions, but can still have the capacity to feel for them. (It's kinda the opposite way ro...

Re: What Happens..?

Well, to find out exactly what happens, you'd have to try it! But I really, really don't recommend that. A neuroleptic drug like Abilify causes changes in levels of various chemicals in the brain, especially dopamine. If you've taken it for a while, the brain tries to compensate and pushes the level...

Meeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Just thought I'd say hello and announce that I now officially do indeed have Asperger's. The feedback session was good and I got to ask lots of questions (I went over my allotted time quite a bit). Annoyingly though, I still have dozens of things I didn't get a chance to talk about. It's funny to fi...
